Hello!

As a mechanical engineer with experience in complex assembly design, I have a solid foundation in multiple engineering disciplines. I've designed and built machines to work in hot corrosive environments, succeeding where other engineers failed. I have extensive experience with Solidworks, designing for manufacturing, and working with those on the shop floor to perfect designs.

My name is John McCluskey, and it excites me to present you with my resume. I have a uniquely broad skillset which I believe sets me apart from most other mechanical engineers. I’ve trained through nine different departments at Shredding Systems Inc (SSI), which has given me experience in rapid, self-directed training, something I’m certain will be useful in most fast-paced environments.

In addition to my design and manufacturing experience, I've also worked with lithium battery powered vehicle propulsion. Prior to working at SSI, I led and was heavily involved in work on a formula style hybrid race car.  It was fully functional, efficient, compact, lightweight, and aesthetically attractive. At the internationally attended SAE competition, our team’s innovative design received the 1st place GM Design Award, despite competition from much larger teams such as Dartmouth, Yale, and Stanford.  This came from a team that, at the beginning of the project, knew next to nothing about electric propulsion or race cars.

With any project I take on, I enjoy seeing it through from planning to actually doing and completing, and I can give many great examples of this. Please take a moment to check out my resume and the online Projects section of my website below, which has writeups (and photos) on interesting recent projects I’ve led and been a part of. If you have any unanswered questions, please feel free to reach me by email or on my mobile.

Yours sincerely,

John McCluskey
