Dear Rocket Lab Team,
As a mechanical engineer with experience in both part and complex assembly design, I have established a solid foundation in multiple engineering disciplines. I've designed and built machines to work in hot corrosive environments, succeeding where other engineers failed. I have extensive experience with Solidworks, designing for manufacturing, and working with those on the shop floor to perfect designs.
My name is John McCluskey, and it excites me to present you with my CV. Your company mission and recent news articles are exciting, and especially so because I believe I could contribute to what you do. I am impressed by the innovation of using electric powered turbopumps on the Rutherford engine, a perfect way to gain efficiency and control with a relatively short run-time engine.
In addition to my design and manufacturing experience, I've also worked with lithium battery powered vehicle propulsion. Several years ago I led and was heavily involved on a formula style hybrid race car. The vehicles were a test platform for ambitious hybrid designs which included multi-motor, all-wheel-drive, lithium-ion/ultra-capacitor hybrid storage systems and other innovations. But beyond tests, it needed to be functional, efficient, compact, lightweight, and aesthetically attractive to fully compete with other universities. What our team achieved was remarkable, and the 1st place GM Design Award was just one of the recognitions we received while at the internationally attended SAE competition.
It’s clear that you have an energetic team and work environment and that the work you’re carrying out is nothing short of revolutionary. I admire this ambition and tenacity, and I believe I can contribute to what you’re trying to achieve.
Yours sincerely,
John McCluskey
